Day 6
We had breakfast at the buffet again with Shu. Who? I wish I had more info on who all were actually part of our tour group. Also, I cant help but wonder what they thought of me back then, seeing as I was not only undergoing the changes typical to the ages of 11 and 12, but my parents had just separated and I was being put in the middle of everything. I didn’t write about that in the journal so maybe I was okay when I was away from everything? I wouldn’t be surprised, as I had a similar experience being fully immersed in my experiences in Peru an not focusing on issues. I guess I got used to them as not being issues, plus the added maturity and life perspective changes that came with the Peru trip did the trick! I had all of the things that I always had at the buffets. I am now in the bus for a Chinese hour. It wasn’t too bad. We went to see the Terracotta warriors. People were still excavating broken soldiers and horses from when revels came in and destroyed them. And we got to watch them at work! We had lunch at He He’s Noodle where we had handmade noodles with tomato and egg. I did my best to avoid the egg. Why? I ate eggs all the other times… Aunt tracy and I had this vegetarian meal. After lunch we went to a pagoda with a place to light candles for our ancesters. (picture coming after I get China pictures from my dad’s house). We went back to the hotel for a free afternoon. I had a banana split which wasn’t very good, but it had to do. How noble of me to eat it anyway. I stayed home and watched TV while aunt tracy went shopping. She brought back a beautiful, bright green shirt that even fits me perfectly. For dinner, we went to a local restaurant. I didn’t eat a lot. I had a sprite and two bowls of rice. We went to a show after dinner where I had ice cream, strawberry flavor. Ice cream. Strawberry ice cream. Shaken not stirred. The show had musical instruments, a duck talker, who was very funny, and dancers that swing their sleeves around. Even I could dance like that. Just watch the damn show. I had to pack and take a shower and go to bed.
